  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: +5 years
    • OBC/MOBC: +3 years
    • PwBD: +10 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: Maximum age capped at 50 years (additional relaxation applies for SC/ST and OBC).

To successfully apply for the APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, candidates must follow these detailed steps:

  1. Visit the official website: Go to the official APSC recruitment portal https://apscrecruitment.in.
  2. Registration:
    • New users must register on the portal with a valid email address and mobile number. Ensure these details are active and’ll be used for future communications.
    • During registration, provide all required personal details, such as name, date of birth, and address, and set up a secure password for your account.
  3. Profile Creation:
    • Log in to the portal after registration and complete your profile creation process.
    • Upload scanned copies of necessary documents (e.g., certificates for age, qualifications, category, etc.) in PDF format, with a file size not exceeding 2 MB. Ensure the uploaded documents are legible when printed.
  4. Application Form Submission:
    • Once the profile creation is complete, navigate to the “Applicant Section” and click on “Apply Section” in the dashboard to select the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024.
    • Carefully fill in all the details in the application form. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
  5. Preview and Final Submission:
    • Before final submission, review all the entered details by clicking on the “Preview” button—Cross-check for any errors.
    • If corrections are required, use the “Cancel” button to edit the form. Once satisfied, click “Submit” to complete the application form submission.
  6. Payment of Fees:
    • Pay the applicable fees based on your category (refer to the earlier section on application fees). The payment can be made online through net banking, debit card, or credit card.
    • Ensure you receive confirmation of successful payment. If the payment status is pending, click the “Validate Payment” button after 15–30 minutes to check the status.
  7. Acknowledgment:
    • After submission and successful payment, an auto-generated email and SMS will be sent to the registered email ID and phone number.
    • Save a copy of the acknowledgment receipt and application form for future reference.
  8. Key Notes:
    • Multiple applications: Submit only one application. If multiple applications are submitted, only the last completed application will be considered.
    • Retain your login credentials for downloading the admit card and checking application status.

Selection Process: APSC Combined Competitive Exam 2024

The selection process consists of two stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: Two objective-type papers (General Studies I & II).
    • Total Marks: 400
    • Qualifying Paper: GS-II with a minimum qualifying score of 33%.
  2. Main Examination: Includes a written exam (6 papers) and an Interview/Personality Test.
    • Total Marks: 1680 (Written: 1500; Interview: 180)

Note: Marks from the Preliminary Exam are not counted towards the final merit list.

Candidates are required to adhere to the following important guidelines during the application and examination process:

  1. Eligibility Verification:
    • Carefully read the Assam Public Service Commission’s Combined Competitive Examination Rules, 1989 (amended till 2023), to ensure you meet all eligibility conditions before applying.
    • Admission at all stages of the examination is provisional. Verification of eligibility will be conducted after qualification for the Interview/Personality Test.
  2. Selection of Exam Centers:
    • Preliminary Exam centers: Choose from locations like Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, and more.
    • The Main Exam will be held in Guwahati only.
    • No requests for a change in the exam center will be entertained once submitted.
  3. For Government Employees:
    • Candidates employed in government service (permanent or temporary) must inform their Head of Office/Department in writing about their application for the CCE.
    • Submit an undertaking at the time of the Interview/Personality Test confirming your compliance with this requirement.
  4. Special Provisions for PwBD Candidates:
    • Candidates with benchmark disabilities requiring a scribe must submit a medical certificate and declare whether they will use their own scribe or request one from the commission.
    • The qualification of the scribe should be below the minimum educational qualification for the CCE.
  5. General Guidelines:
    • Submit accurate information in your application form. Any discrepancies could lead to disqualification.
    • Keep all relevant original documents ready for verification at different stages of the recruitment process.
  6. e-Admission Certificate (Admit Card):
    • The e-Admission Certificate will be uploaded on the official website before the examination. Keep a photo identity proof ready for verification during the exam.
  7. COVID-19 Protocols:
    • Follow government-issued safety guidelines during the examination to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
  8. Important Notes:
    • The processing fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
