2.       Consultants will support in the following areas:

·         Review and revise existing standards to update them as per the latest technological developments.

·         Collect information/data on best practices globally and assist in preparing drafts for the revision of existing standards and formulating new ones in areas of interest.

·         Lead strategic initiatives for promoting standards through circulars, seminars, workshops, webinars, articles, and publicity materials.

·         Collaborate with government departments, industry associations, and academic institutions for inputs and promotion of standards.

·         Perform technical editing of draft standards and publications to ensure error-free, high-quality publications.

3.       Consultants may be required to undertake any other related tasks as assigned from time to time.

2.       If the number of applications is large, shortlisting may be done based on marks obtained in essential qualifications or meeting desirable qualifications.

3.       Mere fulfillment of qualifications or shortlisting does not guarantee engagement as Consultants for Standardization Activities.

4.       Shortlisted candidates will be called for technical knowledge assessments, interviews, etc.

5.       BIS reserves the right to reject any or all applications of BIS Consultant Recruitment 2024 without providing any reason.

BIS Consultant Recruitment 2024: Terms of Engagement

BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS (BIS)

1.       Tenure of Engagement: The contract is for one year.

2.       Nature of Engagement: The contract-based engagement will terminate at the end of the contract period.

3.       Remuneration: A fixed monthly payment of ₹75,000/- will be provided, subject to statutory deductions.

4.       TA/DA: No TA/DA for joining or completion. TA/DA and lodging allowance will be provided for official travel as per Sc-B/Assistant Director’s entitlements.

5.       Job Location: Delhi NCR.

6.       Age Limit: Maximum 65 years as of the last date of application receipt.

7.       Leave: Eligible for 12 days of leave annually; no remuneration for excess leave.

8.       Working Hours: Standard office hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Extra hours may be required during exigencies, with attendance via biometric system.

9.       No Other Assignment: Full-time engagement; no other assignments allowed during the contract period.

10.   Travel, Medical Clearance, and Service-related Death/Injury/Illness: No compensation for death, injury, or illness related to official duties or travel.

11.   Medical Fitness and Police Verification: Police verification and a medical fitness certificate from an authorized practitioner are required at the time of joining.

12.   Termination of Contract: BIS may terminate the contract with 30 days’ notice. The consultant must also provide 30 days’ notice or remuneration in lieu thereof to resign.

13.   Confidentiality of Data and Documents:

• BIS retains intellectual property rights over collected data and deliverables.
• Consultants must not disclose or use data for personal purposes.
• All records must be handed over to BIS before contract expiry or final payment.
• Confidentiality is mandatory at all levels.

1. Conflict of Interest: Consultants must not represent or advise in any matter conflicting with BIS interests.

BIS Consultant Recruitment 2024: General Instructions

2.       Candidates should have a valid e-mail ID and mobile number, which must be entered correctly in the application form and remain active until the recruitment process is completed. No changes will be accepted once submitted. The candidate is responsible for providing a wrong or expired email ID or mobile number.

3.       Candidates should note that their engagement is purely on a contract basis at all stages.

4.       The Bureau reserves the right to amend/modify vacancies or any provision of the advertisement in case of errors, omissions, or deviations, or to cancel the advertisement and engagement process if required.

5.       Selection in the Bureau is free, fair, and merit-based. Any attempt to influence the selection process may lead to termination of the candidature or service, and legal action may be initiated against the concerned individual.

6.       Any dispute arising from this advertisement, including the engagement process, shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the courts in Delhi.
