To become eligible for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), candidates must meet specific academic qualifications. The following criteria must be met:
1.      Possess a Senior Secondary certificate (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have either passed or be in the process of completing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. 2.      Alternatively, hold a Senior Secondary certificate (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and have either passed or be in the process of completing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE 2002 norms. 3.      Have a Senior Secondary certificate (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have either passed or are in the process of completing a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program. 4.      Hold a Senior Secondary certificate (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and have either passed or are in the process of completing a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). 5.      Possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and have either passed or are in the process of completing a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program. Additionally, those who have acquired the B.Ed qualification from an NCTE-recognized institution are eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V. However, they must complete a mandatory six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education, recognized by the NCTE, within two years of their appointment as a primary teacher. 6.      Hold a Post-Graduation degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade and have either passed or be in the process of completing a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed program. |
