  1. To be eligible for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), candidates must have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and have passed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name) OR
  2. Alternatively, candidates with at least 45% marks in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and who have passed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name) by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 are eligible. OR
  3. Candidates with Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) securing at least 50% marks and having passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) are also eligible to apply. OR
  4. Those who have achieved at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and have passed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) meet the eligibility criteria for CTET.

  1. To be eligible for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), candidates must have completed Graduation and passed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name known).
  2. Alternatively, candidates with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post-Graduation are eligible, and they must have passed or be in the final year of a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  3. Candidates with Graduation securing at least 45% marks and who have passed or are in the final year of a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time, are also eligible.
  4. Those with Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and at least 50% marks, who have passed or are in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), meet the CTET eligibility criteria.
  5. Similarly, candidates with Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and at least 50% marks, who have passed or are in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed, are eligible.
  6. Graduates with at least 50% marks and who have passed or are in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education)* are also eligible to appear in CTET.
  7. Any candidate who has qualified for the B.Ed. The program recognized by the NCTE is eligible for TET/CTET. Additionally, individuals pursuing teacher education courses specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 are also qualified to appear in TET/CTET, as per existing guidelines.
  8. Post-Graduates with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade, who have passed or are in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed is eligible for CTET.

1.       The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for Paper I to V & VI to VIII exams in July 2024. Candidates can apply online from 07/03/2023 to 02/04/2024.
