Step 1: Download the official application form from the DRDO website.

Step 2: Fill out the application form completely in block letters, ensuring accuracy in personal and academic details.

Step 3: Self-attested copies of all necessary documents (mark sheets, certificates, NET/GATE scorecard, caste certificate, experience certificates, etc.).

Step 4: Affix a recent passport-size photograph to the form.

Step 5: Candidates employed in Govt./PSUs must bring an NOC from their employer.

Step 6: Report for a walk-in interview at DGRE Chandigarh on the specified date and time.

Step 7: Submit the application form and undergo document verification before appearing for the interview.

  1. Duly filled application form (available on the DRDO website).

  3. Valid NET/GATE scorecard (if applicable).
  4. A recent passport-size photograph, affixed to the application form.
  5. Caste Certificate, if applicable.
  6. Experience certificates/publications, if any.
  7. NOC (if employed in Govt./PSU/Autonomous Bodies).

The selection procedure involves a walk-in interview, with initial screening and shortlisting based on qualifications and national exam scores.

Step 1: Reporting & Application Submission

  • Candidates must report to DGRE, Chandigarh, by 08:30 AM on the interview date.
  • Applications will be accepted only till 10:00 AM—late arrivals will not be considered.

Step 2: Document Verification & Initial Screening

  • Verification of educational qualifications, NET/GATE score, and supporting documents.
  • Shortlisting priority order:
    1. National exam scores (NET/GATE).
    2. Percentage of marks in the qualifying degree (only if NET/GATE is not applicable).

Step 3: Interview Round

  • Candidates clearing the screening process will undergo an interview from 11:00 AM onwards.
  • Evaluation of technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and research aptitude.
  • Selection is provisional, and final confirmation is subject to document verification.
  • One candidate can apply for only one fellowship based on their essential and desirable qualifications.
  • The number of fellowships may increase or decrease, depending on requirements.
  • No accommodation will be provided by DGRE.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview/joining.
  • Selected candidates must be willing to travel and work in the Himalayan snow-bound regions for field research.
  • The fellowship is purely temporary and does not guarantee regular absorption in DRDO.
  • Fellowship tenure: Initially two years, co-terminus with the project.
  • Termination clause: Fellowship may be terminated anytime with a one-month prior notice.
  • Selection through the walk-in interview is provisional, and candidacy can be rejected if qualification details do not match at the time of joining.

What is the stipend for JRF positions?

Selected candidates will receive ₹37,000 per month + HRA as per DRDO guidelines.

Is this a permanent job under DRDO?

No, this is a temporary fellowship with an initial tenure of two years, extendable based on project requirements.

Do I need to pay an application fee?
