Established on 23rd July 1985, the Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) functions as the corporate body responsible for the selection, recruitment, assessment, and training of DRDO scientists. RAC also extends its selection services to the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and other allied agencies.
Position Details: DRDO RAC Chairperson Recruitment 2025
- Post: Chairperson, RAC
- Pay Scale: Level 17 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC (₹2,25,000)
- Equivalent to Apex Scale of ₹80,000 as per 6th CPC
- Location: Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC), Delhi
- Tenure: 3 years or till attaining 65 years of age, whichever is earlier
Roles and Responsibilities: DRDO RAC Chairperson Recruitment 2025
The Chairperson, RAC, will be responsible for:
- Policy Formulation: Leading the development of policies for the recruitment and assessment of DRDO scientists.
- Strategic Guidance: Ensuring transparency, objectivity, and confidentiality in the selection process.
- Stakeholder satisfaction: Implementing best practices to enhance the recruitment process and meet stakeholder expectations.

Eminent Retired/Serving Scientists, Technologists, Civil Servants, and Academicians at the level of Secretary to the Government of India (Pay Level 17) are eligible to apply.
Selection Process: DRDO RAC Chairperson Recruitment 2025
- Appointment will be on a contractual re-employment basis.
- Selection will be conducted by a high-level Search-cum-Selection Committee appointed by the Government of India, following DOP&T guidelines and with the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
- The Committee has the authority to consider additional candidates beyond those who formally apply.
