Registration:

  1. Register on the GDS Online Engagement Portal: https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in to obtain a Registration Number.
  2. Use your active email ID and mobile number for registration. All communication, including result declarations and offers, will be sent to the registered email and mobile number.
  3. The same mobile number cannot be used for multiple registrations. Duplicate registrations will be removed.
  4. Retrieve forgotten registration numbers using the ‘forgot registration’ option.
  5. Prepare the following before registration:
    • Mobile number (verified through OTP)
    • Email ID (verified through OTP)
    • Aadhaar number (if available)
    • Information about the board and year of passing the 10th examination
    • Scanned photo (less than 50 KB in .jpg/.jpeg format)
    • Scanned signature (less than 20 KB in .jpg/.jpeg format)

Payment of Fee:

  1. Fee: Rs. 100 for all posts in the chosen division, except for female, SC/ST, PwD, and transwomen applicants who are exempt.
  2. Payment Methods: Online payment using recognized credit/debit cards, net banking, or UPI (additional charges may apply).
  3. Note Registration Number: Keep it secure for fee payment.
  4. No Refunds: Ensure eligibility before paying the fee.
  5. Exempt Applicants: Can apply online directly without fee payment.

Important Instructions:

  1. Authority Rights: The Department and engaging authorities can modify, cancel the notification, revise the number of posts, or stop the engagement process at any time without explanation.
  2. Communication Responsibility: The Department is not responsible for non-receipt of emails/SMS. Candidates should regularly visit the online engagement portal for updates.
  3. No Phone Calls: The Department does not call applicants/shortlisted candidates. All correspondence will be through the respective Engaging Authority. Do not disclose personal information/registration numbers/mobile numbers/email IDs to others to avoid fraudulent calls.
  4. Application Status: Applicants can view their application status on the website using their registration and mobile numbers until results are announced.
  5. Queries: Division-wise help desks and mobile numbers are provided on the website for queries. The Department will not entertain queries on other numbers or forms of communication.
  6. Modification Window: A three-day window is available for modifications after the application deadline. Changes involving category adjustments requiring additional fees are allowed if the fee is deposited. The previous application becomes null and void after modifications.

Important Notes:

  1. Eligibility: Candidates dismissed/removed/compulsorily retired from government service/Gramin Dak Sevak due to penalties cannot apply. Applicants must submit an undertaking regarding this during online application submission (Annexure-IV). Concealing information will lead to termination and prosecution.
  2. Civil Posts: GDS holds civil posts but is outside the regular Civil Services of the Union of India, governed by GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020, available on www.indiapost.gov.in.
  3. Compensation: Payment of TRCA and other allowances information is available on www.indiapost.gov.in.
  4. Undertaking: Selected candidates must submit an undertaking to the Engaging Authority regarding computer knowledge, cycling, and adequate means of livelihood (Annexure VI, VII & VIII) at the time of engagement.
  5. Restrictions:
    • No person holding an elective office will be considered for engagement.
    • Selected GDS must not engage in activities with outside agencies that could harm the Post Office/IPPB’s interests.
    • Experience or service will not be considered for selection.
