Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Senior Scientific Officer (DNA) (Group-B) in the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madhuban, Karnal, Haryana.

This is a high-level forensic science government job offering an excellent opportunity for candidates with a strong academic background in DNA Fingerprinting and Molecular Biology. The post carries a Level-9 pay scale (₹53,100 – ₹1,67,800) along with government allowances, job security, and the prestige of working in the Haryana State Forensic System.

Essential Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  1. M.Sc. (1st Division) in any of the following:
    1. Zoology
    1. Physical Anthropology
    1. Genetics
    1. Biochemistry
    1. Biotechnology
    1. Microbiology
    1. Molecular Biology
    1. Forensic Science
      (with Zoology/Botany at B.Sc. level)
  2. Minimum 3 years of research & analytical experience in DNA Fingerprinting
  3. Hindi or Sanskrit up to Matric level or higher education

Desirable Qualification:

  • Experience of working in a Forensic Science Laboratory

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 20 Years
  • Maximum Age: 45 Years

Age Relaxation

  • SC / BC (Haryana): 5 Years
  • PwBD: 5 Years (+ further relaxation as applicable)
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per Haryana Govt rules
  • Widowed / Divorced / Unmarried Women: 5 Years
  • Maximum age after relaxation (except ESM): 52 Years

The selection process will follow three stages, as decided by HPSC:

  1. Screening Test (if required)
  2. Subject Knowledge Test
  3. Interview

Yes. This is a regular Group-B gazetted post under the Haryana Government.

Yes, HPSC may conduct a Screening / Subject Knowledge Test, followed by an interview.
