JSSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024: Examination Procedure

Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), Ranchi

· The exam will be conducted by the Commission (CBT/OMR based).

· If conducted in multiple shifts, normalization of marks will be done, and the merit list will be prepared based on normalized marks.

· Recruitment for Stenographer posts under the Jharkhand Secretariat Service will be conducted in two stages: Stage 1: Skill Test – Stage 2: Written Examination

2. Skill Test (Stage 1):

· The skill test is of a qualifying nature, and candidates must clear this to proceed to the next stage.

· Special facilities will be provided for disabled candidates as per the rules.

· The skill test includes two sections: – Hindi Stenography: 500 words to be typed at 50 words per minute. A one-minute trial will be given before the main dictation of 10 minutes.

· A maximum of 5% errors are allowed for qualifying.

3. Written Examination (Stage 2):

· The written exam will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will be conducted in Hindi/English.

· The exam includes four subjects: –

· Hindi Language Knowledge: 25 questions (75 marks)

· English Language Knowledge: 25 questions (75 marks)

· General Studies: 25 questions (75 marks)

· Mental and Reasoning Ability: 25 questions (75 marks)

· The total duration of the written exam is 3 hours.

4. Computer-Based Skill Test:

· Candidates will be tested on:

· Typing data in MS Word.

· Data calculation in MS Excel with formulas.

· Creating pie and Bar Charts in MS Excel.

· Preparing a slide in MS PowerPoint based on the data provided.

5. Submission of Documents:

· A folder with all required documents should be prepared and sent to the provided email address.

6. General Instructions:

· The total exam duration is 1.5 hours (90 minutes) and will have 150 marks.

· Candidates must score a minimum of 30% to qualify.
