MECON Limited, a Premier Miniratna Schedule “A” Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has released an official notification for the recruitment of experienced personnel in Junior Engineer and Junior Officer positions in the regular scale of pay. The recruitment is exclusively through online application mode, inviting applications from committed, result-oriented, and suitably qualified candidates having extensive post-qualification experience in relevant fields such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, HR, and Administration.​

The posts are in E-0 grade with an attractive pay scale of Rs. 30,000–3%–1,20,000/- along with industrial DA, perks, allowances, PRP, and other benefits as per company rules. The selected candidates can be posted at any project site, location, or office of MECON across India and must be willing to serve anywhere in the country.​

  • The mode of selection is a personal interview of provisionally shortlisted candidates; the date, time, and venue of the interview will be displayed on the MECON website and communicated via email.​

Application Fee

  • Candidates belonging to the General / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS category: Rs. 1000/- (Non-refundable).​
  • SC / ST / PwD / Ex-Servicemen and internal candidates: No application fee (exempted).​

Mode of Payment

  • The application fee is to be paid online only through the payment gateway available in the online application form under the “Payment” tab; no other mode of payment is accepted.​

Category-wise Breakup

The total posts fall under UR, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories, with reservation applicable as per Government of India guidelines and including horizontal reservation for PwD where applicable.​

Educational Qualification Notes

  • For postcodes 01 to 05, the required diploma must be obtained through regular/full-time courses only.​
  • For Post Codes 06 and 07, the qualification may be through regular/full-time/open and distance learning mode from a UGC-recognized university.​
  • Degrees and diplomas must be from Government-recognized or council-accredited institutions (UGC/AICTE/MCI/ICAI/ICSI, etc.).​

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit for all advertised posts in E-0 grade is 50 years as on 06.11.2025.​

Age Relaxation

  • 5 years of relaxation for SC/ST candidates.​
  • 3 years of relaxation for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.​
  • Additional relaxation for PwD candidates: 10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC(NCL), and 15 years for SC/ST.​
  • 5 years of relaxation for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989, and relaxation for Ex-Servicemen as per Government norms.​
  • Further, one year of relaxation in upper age is allowed for every additional year of experience beyond the minimum required, subject to a maximum of 3 years and an overall maximum age not exceeding 52 years on the cut-off date.​

During the online application, candidates must fill in all required personal, educational, and experience details carefully, upload the required documents in the prescribed format and size, and pay the applicable application fee through the integrated payment gateway. No other mode of application or fee payment will be accepted, and no modification will be allowed after final submission of the online form.​

At the time of online application, self-attested scanned copies of the following documents must be uploaded in legible, non-encrypted PDF/JPEG format:​

  • Recent passport-size colour photograph (jpg/jpeg, size not exceeding 40 KB).​
  • Signature with blue/black ink (jpg/jpeg, size not exceeding 40 KB).​
  • Matriculation/Secondary Board Certificate/mark sheet or municipal birth certificate as proof of age.​
  • Final/Provisional Certificate of Graduation/Diploma and, where applicable, Post-Graduation.​
  • All semester/year-wise mark sheets or consolidated mark sheets showing the percentage/grade of the required qualifications.​
  • Work experience certificates or documents as specified, including joining and relieving dates, nature of duties, pay scale, and continuity of employment.​
  • PAN Card and Aadhaar Card (Aadhaar number filled in the application must match the uploaded Aadhaar card).​
  • Valid category certificates for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/J&K domicile/Sportspersons as applicable, in prescribed formats.​

In case multiple documents are to be uploaded for a category, they must be merged into a single PDF file not exceeding 1 MB before uploading. All documents must be self-attested, clearly readable, and in Hindi or English, or accompanied by certified translations.​

The selection process for MECON Experienced Personnel in E-0 grade will be based on a Personal Interview of provisionally shortlisted candidates. Shortlisting will be done after scrutiny of online applications, declarations, and supporting documents submitted by candidates, ensuring that eligibility criteria regarding qualifications, experience, age, and category are fully met.​

The list of candidates called for a personal interview, along with date, time, and venue, will be published on MECON’s official website and also communicated through registered email IDs. The final list of selected candidates, along with joining instructions, document verification requirements, and medical examination details, will likewise be uploaded on the website and shared via email only.​

Travelling Allowance for Interview

  • Outstation candidates appearing for interview in E-0 grade will be reimbursed III Tier AC (3A)/Chair Car rail fare or Rs. 7 per km by road, whichever is less, on production of original tickets/boarding passes.​
  • Travelling allowance will be paid only if the candidature is found in order during scrutiny on the interview date; otherwise, no TA will be payable.​

Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for this recruitment. Candidates working in Central/State Government, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies must either route their application through the proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate from their present employer at the time of interview, failing which they will not be interviewed and will not be entitled to TA.​

Candidates must ensure that all eligibility conditions regarding age, qualification, percentage of marks, post-qualification experience, and category certificates are satisfied before applying and before appearing in the interview.
