OPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 Notification: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced the Odisha Civil Services Examination recruitment notification on its official website. A total of 200 vacancies, including positions in Odisha Administrative Service, Odisha Finance Service, Odisha Revenue Service, and others, will be filled under this recruitment drive. Candidates who qualify for the Main Examination must submit the following documents during document verification:

(a) H.S.C. or equivalent certificate (proof of age).
(b) Bachelor’s Degree certificate.
(c) Certificates of higher qualifications (if any).
(d) Caste certificate (SC/ST/SEBC of Odisha).
(e) Odia Test Pass certificate (if applicable).
(f) Ex-Serviceman release certificate and affidavit (if applicable).
(g) Disability certificate (40% or more).
(h) Sports certificate/identity card (if applicable).
(i) Proof of equivalent qualifications (if claimed).
(j) Certificate of good character from the last institution attended.
(k) Four recent passport-size photographs.
(l) No Objection Certificate (for Government servants).
(m) Proof of identity (Aadhaar, EPIC, DL, Passport, PAN card).

Notes:

1.       SEBC candidates must submit caste certificates issued within three years before the application submission date.

2.       Women claiming SC/ST/SEBC must submit caste certificates showing “daughter of…”; certificates under marriage will not be accepted.

3.       OBC certificates are not valid for SEBC claims.

Ensure all documents are self-attested, with the declaration: “Submitted by me and certified as genuine and has not been canceled,” along with the candidate’s signature and date.

The selection process for the Odisha Civil Service Examination 2025, covering various Group A and Group B posts, consists of three stages:

1.       Preliminary Examination

·         The preliminary examination will serve as a screening test.

·         Marks obtained in the prelims will not be considered for the final merit list.

·         Candidates who qualify in the prelims will proceed to the main examination.

2.       Mains Examination

·         The main examination will assess candidates’ in-depth knowledge and understanding.

·         Performance in the main examination plays a significant role in determining the final merit.

3.       Personality Test/Interview

·         Candidates shortlisted from the main examination will be called for a personality test/interview.

·         The final merit list will be based on the combined performance in the main examination and the interview.

The Preliminary Examination for OPSC OCS 2025 consists of two objective-type multiple-choice papers:

• Number of Papers: 2 (Paper 1 and Paper 2)
• Total Marks: 400 (200 marks for each paper)
• Duration: 2 hours for each paper (4 hours total)
• Paper 2 Requirement: Qualifying in nature; candidates must score at least 33% to qualify for the main exam.
• Negative Marking: For every wrong answer, 1/3rd mark will be deducted.

1.       Examination Act: The provisions of the Odisha Conduct of Examinations Act, 1988 are applicable. Any violation will lead to strict disciplinary action.

2.       Penalties: Penalty provisions under Rule-18 of Odisha Civil Services Rules, 1991 are applicable.

3.       Malpractices: Candidates found guilty of malpractice, offering illegal gratification, or applying undue pressure will face disqualification and may be debarred from future recruitments.

4.       Reservation and Relaxation: Applicable only to SC/ ST and SEBC candidates of Odisha.

5.       Caste Status: The community (caste) status mentioned in the online application cannot be changed later.

6.       Non-Binding Advertisement: The advertisement does not guarantee an appointment.

7.       Misrepresentation: Suppression of information or misrepresentation in the application will result in cancellation or penalties.

8.       Empanelment: Inclusion in the select list does not guarantee appointment unless the government verifies the candidate’s suitability.

9.       Candidature: No request for withdrawal of candidature or change of category will be entertained.

10.   Handwriting: Candidates must answer in their handwriting, except for eligible PWD candidates using a scribe.

11.   Pension Scheme: Candidates appointed on or after January 1, 2005, will be under the Contributory Pension Scheme, not the Odisha Civil Services Pension Rules, 1992.

12.   NPS Submission: Mandatory for all recommended candidates when joining.

13.   Evaluation: The Commission reserves the right to adopt methods for evaluating answer scripts.
