1.       Mode of Application:

Candidates are instructed to submit their applications and processing fee (Rs.100/-) through the online portal on N. E. Railway’s official website, www.ner.indianrailways.gov.in.

2.       Eligibility Check:

Before initiating the online application process, candidates must ensure their eligibility under the guidelines specified in the notification.

3.       Application Timeline:

The online application server will be accessible from 10.00 hrs on November 25, 2023. Prospective candidates are required to complete the application process before the server closes at 17.00 hrs on December 24, 2023.

1.       Mode of Selection:

·         Selection of eligible candidates for training under the Apprentice Act, of 1961, will be based on a merit list. The list will be prepared by averaging the percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both.

·         Candidates may choose more than one unit/place. If the merit position does not allow the allocation of the first choice, the subsequent choice will be allotted.

·         Candidates provisionally selected for Document Verification will be called to Gorakhpur. They must bring a copy of the online application, a Medical Certificate in the prescribed format, 4 passport-sized photographs, and all original certificates/testimonials for verification.

·         Apprentice training for successful candidates will commence at the allotted Division/Unit.

2.       Training & Stipend:

·         The candidates’ training will adhere to the standards and syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council, subject to registration with RDAT/Kanpur.

·         Selected candidates will receive a stipend during the apprenticeship at prescribed rates as per existing rules/instructions.

3.       Disclaimer:

·         Act apprentices trained in Railway establishments will not have any claim to seek employment on Railways based on such training.

4.       Other Conditions:

·         Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.

·         Candidates called for Document Verification are not eligible for Travelling/Dearness Allowances, lodging & food Expenses.

·         Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are ineligible for apprenticeship under this notification.

·         Apprenticeship is subject to registration with RDAT/Kanpur.

·         Selected candidates shall execute a contract of Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

·          If an applicant discontinues apprenticeship without valid reasons, repayment of stipend and training costs may be required.

·          Candidature may be canceled if false declarations are discovered.

5.       Communication and Document Verification:

·         All communication will be through notices on NE Railway’s website www.ner.indianrailways.gov.in. No individual call letters will be issued. SMS/Email may be sent, but candidates should regularly check the website.

·         Document verification schedules will be published on NER’s website at short notice. Non-receipt of communication is not a basis for any claim.
