Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Northern Railway (NR)
MODE OF SELECTION:

  1. Screening and Scrutiny:
    • Applications will be screened and scrutinized. There will be no written test or interview.
  2. Merit-Based Selection:
    • Selection is based on the merit of candidates, calculated by averaging the percentage marks obtained in Matriculation/SSC/10th (minimum 50% aggregate) and ITI examinations, giving equal weight to both.
  3. Tie-Breaker Criteria:
    • If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred. If their birthdates are the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier will be considered first.
  4. Final Merit List:
    • A final merit list will be prepared by cluster, trade, and community, equal to the number of available slots, in descending order of marks obtained in SSC/Matriculation/10th and ITI, as described above.
  5. Discrepancies in Marks:
    • Any discrepancy between the marks/CGPA entered in the online application and the original mark sheet/certificate found during Document Verification will result in the rejection of the applicant’s candidature.
  6. Calculation of Marks:
    • For Boards with a grading system, the midpoint of the grade range will be taken for calculating the percentage of Matriculation/SSC/10th marks. The average will be calculated assuming each subject is out of 100 marks. CGPA/Grade should be converted to actual marks and entered in the online application. The final score is calculated by adding the marks of all subjects, not just a group of subjects.
    • For board certificates where marks are not calculated, marks obtained in all subjects mentioned on the certificates will be considered for merit.
    • For ITI marks, the average of all semesters’ marks in the trade applied for, as mentioned in the Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT, will be considered and should be entered by the applicant in the application.
