South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) invites online applications for Graduate and Technician Apprenticeship Training for the financial year 2024-25 under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended). This one-year apprenticeship program offers opportunities in various engineering and general streams. ·         Graduate Apprenticeship: 4-year degree in engineering or general stream.

·         Technician Apprenticeship: 3-year diploma in the relevant branch of Engineering/ General Stream or equivalent qualification recognized by the government.

·         Diploma Duration:

o    3 years after Class 10th.

o    2 years after Class 12th (with lateral entry into the 2nd year).

·         One-year diplomas are not allowed, and only regular full-time education is eligible. 

·         Stipend: Graduates: ₹9000/-, Technicians: ₹8000/-

·         Age limit: Minimum 18 years.

·         Cutoff date for age calculation: 10/02/2025

6.       Age Requirement:
The minimum age must be 18 years as of the application submission date.

7.       Recent Qualification:
An engineering degree/diploma must not be older than 5 years from the date of joining as an apprentice.

Selection Process: SECL Graduate and Diploma Apprentices 2025

1.       Shortlisting Basis:

o    Date of passing the degree in Engineering/General Stream or Diploma is the primary criterion.

o    Candidates who passed earlier will be ranked higher.

2.       Tie-Breaking Criteria:
If candidates have the same passing date, the following factors will be used in order:

o    Percentage of marks in degree/ diploma.

o    Percentage of marks in 12th/10th.

o    Date of birth.

3.       Reservation and Selection Lists:

o    A provisional selection list will be prepared based on the criteria and reservation rules.

o    Two seniority lists will be created:

§  Level 1: Candidates from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

§  Level 2: Candidates from other states (preference given to Western Region candidates under the Board of Apprenticeship Training).

4.       Selection Announcement:

o    The provisional selection list will be uploaded on the SECL website, tentatively in the 3rd week of February 2025.

Medical Fitness Process: SECL Graduate and Diploma Apprentices 2025

1.       Document Verification:
Provisionally selected candidates will be allowed for training only after document verification.

2.       Medical Examination:

o    Candidates must pass a medical examination as per the Mines Rules, 1955 for those posted in mines.

o    For General Stream Graduate Apprenticeship, the medical format as per Apprenticeship Rule, 1992 is applicable.

3.       Fitness Certificate Requirements:

o    A fitness certificate must be obtained from a government hospital doctor of rank not less than an Assistant Civil Surgeon.

o    The certificate must include:

§  Clear and readable entries.

§  All test report details filled in.

§  Candidate’s photograph was pasted, signed, and stamped by the medical officer.

o    Only prescribed formats for the medical fitness certificate will be accepted.

4.       Certificate Date:
The medical fitness certificate must be dated after this notification.

5.       Verification by SECL:
In case of doubts about the fitness certificate, SECL reserves the right to conduct its medical examination.

1.       Schedule:

o    Document verification will begin on 3rd March 2025.

o    The schedule and the provisional selection list will be uploaded on the SECL website.

2.       Documents to Bring:
Candidates must bring the following original documents:

o    Certificates and mark sheets of secondary/higher secondary qualifications.

o    Certificates and mark sheets of Degree/Diploma in Engineering or General Stream from government-recognized institutions or equivalent qualifications.

o    Caste certificate (OBC certificate issued after 01/04/2024 will only be accepted).

o    Aadhaar-linked DBT-enabled bank account details.

o    Domicile certificate (for candidates from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh).

o    Aadhaar card.

3.       Additional Requirements:

o    One set of self-attested photocopies of all documents.

o    Four passport-size photographs.

o    A notarized affidavit in the prescribed format.

4.       Stipend Details:

o    Graduate Apprentice: ₹9,000 per month.

o    Technician Apprentice: ₹8,000 per month.

o    Payment Breakdown:

§  50% of the stipend paid by SECL.

§  50% paid by the government through DBT in Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
