TATA Motors Senior Manager- Plant Safety Vacancy at Dharwad Rajasthan Location.

Position Summary with Job Responsibilities

·        Provide guidance and support to the Corporate Safety Head in assisting functional heads of Manufacturing entities with planning, organizing, controlling, and maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace (TML & channel partners).

·         Ensure compliance with all safety-related requirements, aligning with TML standards.

·         Proactively implement and maintain the Tata Group Health & Safety Management System requirements at all times.

·         Monitor, analyze, and enhance the Proactive Safety Index.

Safety Support Role

1.       Advisory and Assistance:

  • Provide advice and support to the Safety and Health (S&H) head in addressing company-level safety issues and presenting resolutions to management.
  • Collaborate closely with Plant Safety teams as needed.

2.       Budget Administration:

  • Assist the Corporate Head of Safety in preparing and managing the Revenue budget.
  • Plan, monitor, and control expenditures, emphasizing effective delivery within or below budgeted amounts.
  • Support management in the effective implementation of TML Safety systems, including Road Safety (Defensive Driving), Contractor Safety, LOTO, Machine Guarding, etc.

3.       Accident Reporting, Investigation & Prevention:

  • Ensure prompt reporting and investigation of all accidents and high-potential occurrences by teams, participating in investigations if required.
  • Oversee and monitor the incident reporting and investigation system.
  • Monitor statistical summaries of Manufacturing locations, highlighting significant trends and occurrences.

4.       Proactive Safety Index Monitoring:

  • Monitor Proactive Safety Index (PSI) for all Plants, Business Units (BUs), and TML Levels.
  • Analyze and modify the Proactive Safety Index.
  • Maintain Management Information System (MIS) for all plants, covering Leading & Lagging Indicators.
  • Enhance the Safety Portal with collaboration from various teams.
  • Coordinate Monthly Safety Reviews with all seven plants.
  • Prepare SHE Council, SHS Committee of the Board, and Quarterly Board Reviews for Safety.

5.       Safety Management Support:

  • Monitor Kaizen activities in all plants and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with vendors for third-party activities such as training and creatives.
  • Assist in implementing Corporate Subcommittee Actions for Corporate Safety.
  • Coordinate with the TATA Group for activities like ARRE (Accident Reduction and Recognition Event).
  • Conduct continuous incident analysis and plan corrective actions.
  • Work with the Data Analytics team to develop Safety Dashboards.
  • Submit data for various disclosures like Industrial Relations (IR), Board Reports, etc.
  • Monitor CTS (Critical to Safety) in all plants.
  • Track Driving Safety Violations.
  • Coordinate with the TBEM (Tata Business Excellence Model) Team on behalf of Corporate Safety for meeting all requirements.
  • Coordinate second-party audits.
  • Collaborate with ACGL, TMSA, and TMML for safety improvements.
  • Prepare external awards on behalf of Corporate Safety.
  • Collate and coordinate data from all plants for projects/initiatives by Corporate Safety.

6.       Training:

  • Develop a Safety standard E-Module.
  • Create relevant training materials/modules.
  • Identify training needs for different entities.

7.       Communication:

  • Post SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) Quarterly issues.
  • Develop Safety campaigns, including Safety Tweets/Mailers under initiatives like Safety, iSafe, iDriveSafe, iInspire, etc.
  • Implement new communication initiatives through various mediums with the assistance of the Corporate Communications team.

8.       Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Masters in Industrial Safety.
  • Qualification in Safety Management/Safety Engineering (Diploma in Industrial Safety).

9.       Work Experience & Competencies:
