·         For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai: A degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.

·         For Indian Naval Academy: A degree in engineering from a recognized university or institution.

·         For Air Force Academy: A degree from a recognized university with Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level, or a Bachelor of Engineering.

Age Limits, Sex, and Marital Status: UPSC CDS I 2025 Recruitment

1.       For IMA: Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2007 are eligible.

2.       For Indian Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2007 are eligible.

3.       For Air Force Academy:

·         Age: 20 to 24 years as of 1st January 2026 (born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2006).

·         Upper age limit relaxable up to 26 years for valid Commercial Pilot License holders (born between 2nd January 2000 and 1st January 2006).

·         Candidates below 25 years must be unmarried; married candidates above 25 years are eligible but cannot live with family during training.

4.       For Officers’ Training Academy (Men): Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd January 2001 and 1st January 2007 are eligible.

5.       For Officers’ Training Academy (Women): Unmarried women, issueless widows (not remarried), and issueless divorcees (holding divorce documents) born between 2nd January 2001 and 1st January 2007 are eligible.

How  to Apply: UPSC CDS I 2025 Recruitment

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

1.       Candidates must apply online via the website upsconline.gov.in.

2.       Submit the required information and supporting documents (e.g., date of birth, educational qualification) along with the Registration and Online Application Form.

3.       Refer to the Notice for Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2025, for detailed instructions on filling out the form.

4.       Failure to provide necessary information/documents or submit them within the correction window may result in cancellation of candidature.

5.       Registration is a one-time process and can be completed at any time throughout the year.

6.       Already registered candidates can directly proceed to fill out the online application for the examination.

Selection Process: UPSC CDS I 2025 Recruitment

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

1.       The UPSC will prepare a list of candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam, as determined by the Commission.

2.       Successful candidates will undergo an intelligence and personality test at the Service Selection Board (SSB) based on their preferences and service HQ.

3.       Candidates opting for Army (IMA/ OTA) as their first choice must register on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in to receive call-up information for the SSB interview.

·         Candidates already registered on the website should not register again.

·         The email ID used on the DG Recruiting website and provided to UPSC must be the same and unique.

4.       SSB results will be valid for all qualified courses, including:

·         Indian Military Academy (DE) Course, Dehradun

·         Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala

·         Air Force Academy (Pre- Flying) Course, Hyderabad

·         SSC (NT) Course at OTA, Chennai

5.       SSB follows a two-stage selection process:

·         Stage 1: Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test conducted on the first reporting day. Only those who qualify proceed to Stage 2.

·         Stage 2: Includes further tests, and only those who pass are required to submit photocopies of:

(i) Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent for proof of date of birth.

(ii) Bachelor’s/ Provisional Degree and mark sheets of all years/ semesters for educational qualification proof.
