SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Our selection process consists of several key stages, as outlined below:

1. a) Initial Short-listing

Based on GATE 2021, GATE 2022, or GATE 2023 Score:

Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interviews based on their valid GATE scores from 2021, 2022, or 2023. Shortlisting will be in order of merit, with Percentile serving as a tiebreaker. Percentile is calculated using the formula: (Number of Candidates Appeared in the relevant GATE paper – Candidate’s All India Rank in the same GATE paper) / Number of Candidates Appeared in the relevant GATE paper. In case of a further tie, seniority will be determined by the candidate’s age.

1. b) Initial Short-listing:

Based on ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 Exam Score (For Agriculture Science Discipline):

Candidates in the Agriculture Science discipline will be shortlisted for Personal Interviews based on their scores in the ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 examination. Shortlisting will be in the order of marks obtained in the ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 Examination. In case of a tie, seniority will be based on the candidate’s age.

1. c) Personal Interview:

Only the shortlisted candidates will be invited for the Personal Interview, with the number of candidates not exceeding four times the number of vacancies in the respective discipline and category. Participation in the Personal Interview is contingent upon the successful completion of the Document Verification process. Interview details will be communicated via email and posted on our website: www.bis.gov.in.

1. d) Final Merit List:

Candidates will be selected discipline-wise based on their aggregate marks, with 85% weightage given to GATE Score/ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 Marks and 15% weightage to the interview marks. In the event of a tie in the aggregate marks after the interview, seniority will be determined as follows:

i) Preference is given to the candidate with the higher GATE/ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) score.

ii) If GATE/ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) scores are also tied, seniority will be based on age, with the older applicant receiving higher seniority in the merit list.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

To apply for this opportunity, candidates must complete an online application via the BIS website, www.bis.gov.in, starting from October 14, 2023, until November 3, 2023. Please note that no other methods of application submission will be accepted under any circumstances.

CRUCIAL REMINDERS BEFORE REGISTERING

Prior to initiating the online application process, candidates should take into account the following points:

i. Ensure you have scanned copies of your photograph and signature that meet the specified requirements.
ii. Scan the following documents: Date of Birth Certificate, GATE Scorecard, Identity Proof, Essential Qualification Degree and Marksheet, Higher/Additional Qualifications Degree and Marksheet (if applicable), Conversion Formula (if required), and Category Certificate (if applicable).
iii. Possess a valid personal email address and mobile number, which must remain active throughout the Recruitment Process. BIS will communicate via the registered email ID for interview call letters and more.

APPLICATION PROCESS

(Read Instructions Carefully)

1. Navigate to the BIS website at www.bis.gov.in and click on the “APPLY ONLINE” option to access a new screen.
2. To initiate the application, select the “Register (New Candidate)” tab and input your name, contact details, email address, and more. The system will generate an Application Number, which should be noted down. An email and SMS with the Provisional Registration number will also be sent.
3. Complete the application form diligently, ensuring that the candidate’s name, as well as that of their parents, matches the details on their certificates and identity proof documents, as any disparities may lead to disqualification.
4. If needed, use the “SAVE AND CONTINUE” tab to store entered data if you are unable to complete the application in one go.
   Candidates can proceed to fill in the remaining details of the Application Form.
5. Upload your Photo, Signature, Date of Birth Document, GATE Scorecard/ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 scorecard, Identity Proof, Essential Qualification Degree and Marksheet, Higher/Additional Qualifications Degree and Marksheet (if applicable), and Category Certificate (if applicable), as well as the Conversion Formula (if required).
6. Acceptable identity verification documents include an Aadhar Card, Passport, PAN Card, Driver’s License, Voter’s Card, Bank Passbook with Photograph, Valid University or College Identity Card, or Employee Identity Card from a Government or Public Sector Organization.
7. Prior to the final submission, click on the Preview Tab to review and verify all details in the application form.
8. Make any necessary modifications and only click on FINAL SUBMIT after confirming the accuracy of the uploaded photograph, signature, and other provided information.
