  • Medical StandardsCandidates are expected to meet the following medical standards:

    Candidates must not exhibit knocked knees, flat feet, or squint eyes. Color blindness is not permissible. Varicose veins will be regarded as a temporary disqualification.
    Candidates must maintain good mental and physical health. They should be free from physical deformities and any diseases that could hinder the efficient performance of duties, including diabetes, heart diseases, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases, or any other ailment.
    Distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not worse than 6/9 for the other eye without correction. Near vision should be normal.

How to Apply for Constable Assam Police Recruitment 2023

To apply for the Constable Assam Police Recruitment 2023, please follow these steps:

  • Online Application: Submit your application online through the official SLPRB website at www.slprbassam.in. No other forms of application will be accepted.
  • Registration: Register on the portal using a valid mobile number. It is advisable to keep the same mobile number unchanged until the recruitment process is completed.
    Upon successful registration, you will receive a unique Recruitment ID. Generating multiple recruitment IDs will result in the cancellation of your candidature.
  • Document Upload: You are required to upload scanned copies of the following documents
  • Passport Size Photograph: Ensure you upload high-quality color photographs. Poor-quality images may lead to the rejection of your application. The uploaded photograph will appear on your Admit Card. Photographs must be taken by a professional studio and meet the following criteria:
  • 1.  Must have a white background. Taken after 1st January 2023.
  • 2. The face should occupy about 50% of the area in the photograph, with a full face view looking directly into the camera.
  • 3. The main features of the face should not be covered by hair, clothing, or shadows.
  • 4. The forehead, eyes, nose, cheeks, lips, and chin should be clearly visible.
  • 5. If you normally wear spectacles, ensure there is no glare on the glasses in the photo. Tinted or dark glasses are not allowed, only clear glasses are permitted.
  • 6. Save the image in JPEG format with a standard size of 4.5cm x 3.5cm (45mm x 35mm). The pixel resolution should be between a maximum of 640 x 480 (0.3 Mega Pixel) and a minimum of 320 x 240. The maximum file size is 450 kb.
  • Signature: Sign using black or dark blue ink on white paper. Get your signature digitally scanned by a professional photo studio and ensure it meets the following criteria: Only accept JPEG image formats. Maximum pixel resolution: 800 x 300. Minimum pixel resolution: 400 x 150. Signature image dimensions: 3.5cm (width) x 2.5cm (height). Maximum file size is 100 kb. Mobile phone photographs of signatures are not acceptable and may result in application disqualification.
  • Documents: Certificate for proof of age (Admit Card/Certificate of H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination).
    1. Pass certificate of HSLC/HSSLC examination as applicable for the post you are applying for.
    2. Mark sheet of HSLC/HSSLC examination as applicable for the post.
    3. Employment Exchange Registration Card.
    4. Home Guard training and a minimum of 3 years of experience.            5. Certificate issued by the Competent Authority to claim age relaxation.
    6. Certificate of registered VDP member and a minimum of 3 years of working experience as VDP issued by the concerned Superintendent of Police to claim age relaxation.
    7. Caste Certificate from the Competent Authority in Assam (Caste certificates issued by other states will not be accepted).
    8. Sports/NCC certificates issued by the Competent Authority, if applicable.
    9. Appointment Certificate as SPO issued by the concerned Superintendent of Police, if applicable.
    10. Certificate of NDFB Ex-Cadre issued by Special Branch, HQrs. of Assam Police, Kahilipara, Guwahati, if applicable.
    11. Certificate for basic and advanced Home Guard training and experience issued by the Competent Authority, if applicable.
    12. Certificate for working as a member of V.D.P. issued by the concerned Superintendent of Police, if applicable.
  • Completing the Application: After uploading the required documents, click on the ‘Complete’ button to confirm your agreement with all the entries made in the form. You can then download the registration/application slip, which will include your unique ID number.
  • Contact Information: It is essential to provide your full address with a PIN code, a valid email address, and a mobile phone number in the application form. This information is necessary to inform you about your application status and related updates.
  • Application Validation: Incomplete, defective, or invalid applications will be rejected.
  • Important Notes: 
  • Ensure you do not appear for the tests from multiple venues, as this will result in the cancellation of your candidature.
  • Use specific email addresses and mobile phone numbers for each candidate.
  • When reporting at the venue for the Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test, remember to bring all the documents uploaded during the online application submission.

Please Note: After document submission during the PST & PET, no changes to the entries will be allowed, and no requests for modifications will be entertained.

  • Admit Card and Communication:

Candidates with valid applications will receive invitations for the Physical Standard Test & Physical Efficiency Test. Admit cards or call letters can be downloaded from the SLPRB website using your ID number. Notifications will also be sent through SMS and email to the contact details provided during the application. It is your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of your mobile number and email address. The SLPRB will not be held accountable for discrepancies arising from incorrect contact information.

Selection Procedure for Constable Assam Police Recruitment 2023

1. Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET):
Candidates with correct and complete applications will proceed to the Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). Please note that if any candidate is found to have a physical deformity, as determined by the Medical Officer in the Selection Committee, they will not be allowed to participate in the subsequent tests.

2. Preliminary Verification of Documents:
Before appearing for the PST and PET, all candidates will undergo preliminary verification of their documents to ensure they meet the specified eligibility criteria. Rejected candidates will receive rejection slips detailing the reasons for their rejection. Submission of incorrect information or forged documents at any stage of the recruitment process will result in disqualification and may lead to legal consequences.

3. Document Self-Attestation:
Candidates are required to submit original documents along with a set of self-attested photocopies. To prevent document manipulation at a later stage, the Chairman or a Member of the Selection Committee will sign each copy of such documents during the PST and PET, especially on caste certificates and other documents containing marks.

Ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of documents is essential to successfully advance through the selection process for the Constable Assam Police Recruitment 2023.

4. Physical Standard Test & Preliminary Medical Checkup:

  • After verifying the correctness of documents, candidates will proceed to the Physical Standard Test (PST).
  • The PST does not carry any marks and involves measuring height, weight, and chest (for males).
  • A Medical Officer will conduct preliminary check-ups, which include assessing knock knees, vision, color blindness, flat foot, varicose veins, and physical deformities.
  • Once a candidate clears the PST, they will advance to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

5. Instructions for Conduct of PST & PET:

  • Candidates who fail to qualify in any event during PST or PET will be eliminated from the recruitment process.
  • The sequence for taking the PET will be determined by the Selection Committee.
  • Biometric recordings will be taken for identification.
  • Qualifying standards in the PST and PET do not guarantee the right to appear in the Written Test.

6.  Written Test:

  • The written test comprises 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered on an OMR answer sheet.
  • Correct answers earn candidates half a mark each, with no negative marking.
  • Questions are of the class IX and X level.
  • The test is out of 50 marks and covers subjects such as Elementary Arithmetic, General English, Logical reasoning/Mental ability, Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy, General Awareness/General Knowledge, and current affairs.
  • The test can be taken in Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, or English.
  • The date and venue of the Written Test will be announced in due course.

7.  Academic (Maximum Marks 5):

Marks will be allotted based on the results of the Higher Secondary for Constable (UB).
Scoring between 45 – 59.99% earns 2 marks, 60 – 74.99% earns 3 marks, and 75% and above earns 5 marks.
8. Oral/Viva-Voce (Maximum 5 Marks):

The number of candidates called for the Oral/Viva-Voce is determined based on the marks scored in the PET and Written Tests.
In cases where candidates score the same marks, the number of candidates called may exceed the 2 times formula for that specific case and category.
9. Final Merit Lists:

The final results are based on the following criteria:

  • For Constable (UB) Both Male & Female Candidates:
    Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 40 marks
    Written Test – 50 marks
    Academic – 5 marks
    Oral/Viva-Voce – 5 marks
    Total – 100 marks
  • For Constable (AB) Male Candidates:
    Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 60 marks
    Written Test – 50 marks
    Oral/Viva-Voce – 5 marks
    Total – 115 marks
  • For Constable (AB) Female Candidates:
    Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 40 marks
    Written Test – 50 marks
    Oral/Viva-Voce – 5 marks
    Total – 95 marks
    A select list will be prepared to fill the exact number of vacancies.

10. General Instructions:

  • Candidates are not entitled to T.A./D.A. for travel and stay during any stage of the recruitment.
  • Selection lists do not guarantee an appointment, as candidates must undergo medical examinations and verification.
  • The number of vacancies is subject to change for administrative reasons.
    Candidates must participate in all recruitment stages; absence from any event will lead to candidature cancellation.
  • Incomplete, incorrect, or misrepresented information will result in rejection.
