MRVC is responsible for executing projects under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) and has successfully implemented numerous suburban rail improvement projects in Mumbai and its extended suburbs to enhance rail transportation capacity. The corporation also plays a key role in the planning and development of the Mumbai Suburban Rail system.
