Your journey toward a rewarding career with POWERGRID and CTUIL begins with our rigorous selection process. Here’s a breakdown of the process:

1. Eligibility and GATE 2023 Score:

To be eligible, you must have secured a valid score in the corresponding paper of GATE 2023.
Shortlisting for the Behavioral Assessment, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview is based on your normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2023.
You can choose to appear for the Group Discussion and Interview in either Hindi or English.

2. Information and Call Letters:

Check your application status through your login at the POWERGRID Online Application System.
Shortlisted candidates will be able to download their interview call letter and other essential documents through the candidate login.

3. Interview Qualification:

Candidates shortlisted for Group Discussion and Interviews must bring the required documents as mentioned in their interview call letter.
Qualification for the Personal Interview is essential for consideration for empanelment.
The qualifying percentages in interviews for different categories are as follows:
UR Vacancy including EWS: 40%
Reserved Vacancy: 30% (Dependent on reservation of vacancies)
Group discussion does not have any qualifying marks.

4. Weightage to Different Parameters:

The final score calculation for empanelment is based on the following:
GATE 2023 Marks (out of 100): 85%
Group Discussion: 3%
Personal Interview: 12%

5. Behavioral Assessment:

Candidates shortlisted for Group Discussion and Interviews may undergo a Behavioral Assessment. The results are used as input during the interview. Only candidates who qualify for the Personal Interview will be considered suitable for empanelment.

6. Valid GATE Score:

Please note that only GATE 2023 scores (Normalized Marks out of 100) are valid for this recruitment process. GATE scores from 2022 or prior are not considered.

7. Empanelment:

Empanelment is done based on the total vacancies, not separately for POWERGRID and CTUIL.
The offer of appointment is issued based on category-wise merit and organizational requirements.
Selected candidates will receive notifications through their login in the online application system.

8. Declining Offers:

If a candidate receives an offer from either POWERGRID or CTUIL and declines it or chooses not to join, the offer will be withdrawn and canceled.
Requests for changing the organization after accepting the offer will not be entertained.

9. Medical Examination:

Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing a Pre-Employment Medical Examination conducted as per POWERGRID norms and medical fitness standards.

10. Posting Locations:

Selected candidates can expect posting locations in POWERGRID/CTUIL offices, substations, and construction sites across India and abroad.

Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for POWERGRID/CTUIL Recruitment

            1. Online Registration:

If you’re interested and eligible, start by registering online, even if you’ve applied for other positions at POWERGRID/CTUIL previously. Visit the POWERGRID website here and provide your GATE-2023 registration number along with other necessary details. Ensure that you enter the GATE Registration No. exactly as it appears on your GATE-2023 Admit Card/ Score Card, as changes won’t be entertained once your application is submitted.

          2. Accurate Details:

Fill in all the required details in the application form meticulously. Pay special attention to your email and alternative email addresses as important communications will be sent through email.

            3. Submission:

Once you’ve completed the application, click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the page. Upon successful submission, a unique Registration Number will be generated, which you can find in your completed application form.

            4. Login Information:

Your primary email ID is your Login ID, and the unique Registration Number serves as your password for accessing the POWERGRID Online application system.

            5. Application Fees (If Applicable):

If you’re not exempt from application fees (only SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM/D-ExSM candidates are exempt), log in to your candidate login section and make a non-refundable application fee payment of Rs. 500/- through online mode. Your application process will be considered complete upon payment of fees.

            6. No Hard Copies:

There’s no need to send a hard copy of the application by post.

            7. Complete Applications:

Incomplete applications or those without the required application fees (if applicable) will be rejected.

            8. Verification:

Candidates will need to present their GATE 2023 Admit card and GATE 2023 Score card for verification during GD/ Interview / Joining at POWERGRID/CTUIL.

            9. Document Upload:

Upload a recent color passport-size photograph (.jpg file size not exceeding 50 kb), a scanned copy of your signature (.jpg file size not exceeding 30 kb), caste certificate/disability certificate/discharge certificate/age relaxation cum domicile certificate, and your qualification final passing certificate.

           10. Accurate Information:

Ensure that you correctly declare your Name and Date of Birth as stated in your Birth certificate or class Xth mark sheet/certificate. Additionally, declare your category accurately and be prepared to provide relevant certificates in the prescribed format as requested by POWERGRID/CTUIL.

            11. Unalterable Applications:

Once you’ve submitted your application, it cannot be altered. Consequently, no requests for changes in applicant data post-submission will be entertained.

            12. Qualification Details:

Enter your qualification details, including the date of acquiring your qualification, as per your certificates.

            13. Print Your Application:

It’s a good practice to print out your completed application and keep it safe for future reference.

GD and Interview Verification: If you are called for a GD and interview, your identity will be verified using your GATE-2023 admit card and Original GATE-2023 scorecard. Therefore, it’s important to retain these documents.

            14. Valid Photo ID:

During the interview, you’ll need to present a valid photo ID. Photocopies of the original identification document will not be accepted. Ensure that you have your original and valid photo identification, GATE 2023 admit card, and score card.
