2.       Create a One-Time Registration (OTR) Profile: Register on the OTR portal. This profile will be valid for life and can be used for future exams.

3.       Fill the Application Form: Log in using your OTR credentials and complete the application form with the required details.

4.       Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other necessary documents.

5.       Pay the Application Fee: Pay the application fee online through various payment modes.

6.       Submit the Form: Review all the details carefully and submit the application form.

7.       Print Confirmation Page: Download and print the confirmation page for your records

Selection Process

The selection process for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 consists of three stages:

1.       Preliminary Examination: This is an objective-type test designed to screen candidates for the Main Examination. It consists of two papers: General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II (CSAT).

2.       Main Examination: This stage includes nine papers of conventional essay type, each intended to test the candidate’s knowledge, comprehension, analytical ability, and decision-making skills.

3.       Personality Test/Interview: Candidates who clear the Main Examination are called for a personality test/interview, which assesses their suitability for a career in public service

Examination Pattern:

The examination pattern for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 is as follows:

·         Preliminary Examination:

o    General Studies Paper I: 200 questions, 2 marks each, 100 questions from General Studies, and 100 questions from CSAT.

o    General Studies Paper II (CSAT): 200 questions, 2 marks each, 80 questions from General Studies, and 120 questions from CSAT.

·         Main Examination:

o    Nine papers of conventional essay type, each carrying 250 marks, totaling 1750 marks.

·         Personality Test/Interview:

o    275 marks, conducted by a board of competent and unbiased observers.
