The Defence Materials & Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur—a premier laboratory under the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India—has invited eligible candidates to attend a Walk-in Interview for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science, Material Science & Engineering, and Textile Engineering.
The fellowship will be awarded initially for two years, offering a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 along with HRA and contingency grants. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated researchers to contribute to cutting-edge defence materials research in India.

Note:

• Cut-off Date for Age Calculation: Date of interview – 11.09.2025
• Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates; 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). OBC candidates in the Creamy Layer are not eligible for relaxation.

Fellowship Stipend and Benefits

• Stipend: ₹37,000/- per month for both 1st and 2nd year.
• Contingency Grant: Up to ₹15,000/- per annum (1st two years), extendable to ₹20,000/- for subsequent years.
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): As per Government rules.
• Medical Facilities: Available for self through MI Room in campus.
• Other Benefits: JRFs are not eligible for DA, CCA, Bonus, Retirement benefits, etc.

How to Apply: DRDO DMSRDE JRF Recruitment 2025

1. Check eligibility for your desired JRF discipline.

3. Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents (educational certificates, mark sheets, NET/GATE score card, ID proof, caste certificate if applicable).

Selection Process:

The selection will be through a walk-in interview only.

• Reporting Time: 09:00 hrs on 11 September 2025
• Candidates will undergo document verification followed by technical interview.
• Final selection will be based on academic performance, research aptitude, and interview performance.

• Arrive at the venue well before the reporting time to complete verification formalities.
• Bring all original documents for verification; without them, you will not be allowed to attend the interview.
• Fellowship does not guarantee future employment in DRDO.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• OBC candidates must produce a Non-Creamy Layer certificate.
• The Director, DMSRDE reserves the right not to select any candidate if suitable candidates are not found.
