Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a leading public sector bank headquartered in Chennai, invites online applications for the engagement of 750 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2025–26. This is a golden opportunity for graduates across India to gain hands-on experience in the banking sector. Selected candidates will undergo one-year apprenticeship training and receive a monthly stipend based on the branch category. The engagement is purely contractual and does not guarantee future employment, but it offers valuable exposure and skill-building in a reputable institution.

*Stipend varies by branch category: ₹15,000 (Metro), ₹12,000 (Urban), ₹10,000 (Semi-Urban/Rural). For NATS candidates, the Bank pays ₹10,500/₹7,500/₹5,500, respectively, after deducting the ₹4,500 government subsidy.

  2. Register on NATS (https://nats.education.gov.in) or NAPS (https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in)
  3. Use your NATS/NAPS enrollment number to apply online via the BFSI SSC portal
  4. Select only one State/UT for the application.
  5. Pay the application fee online after receiving email instructions from BFSI SSC
  • Valid email ID and mobile number
  • NATS/NAPS registration details
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or Class X)
  • Photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.)
  • Graduation mark sheets and degree certificates
  • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) in prescribed format
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)
  • Income & Asset Certificate (for EWS)
  • Any other relevant eligibility documents

Candidates must score a minimum aggregate marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD). Final selection is based on merit and reservation rules.

  • Apprenticeship is not a job offer or guarantee of future employment.
  • Candidates with prior apprenticeship or job experience of 1+ year post-graduation are not eligible.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for document verification or personal interaction.
  • Only one application per candidate is allowed.
  • Misrepresentation or false documents will lead to disqualification and legal action.
  • Final engagement is subject to medical fitness and verification of documents.

Can I apply for more than one state?

No. You must apply for an apprenticeship in only one State/UT, preferably your home state.

Is there any reservation for ex-servicemen?

No. Ex-servicemen/Disabled Ex-servicemen are not eligible for apprenticeship engagement.

Will I get a job after completing the apprenticeship?

No. Apprenticeship does not guarantee employment. It is a training opportunity only.
