Candidates must apply online from 22.12.2023 to 20.01.2024 by 23:59 hours. To apply online, visit the “Recruitments” column on the left-hand side menu of the Patna High Court Website (http://patnahighcourt.gov.in). Follow these instructions for filling in the online application:
1.      Ensure that all particulars in the online application, including the candidate’s name, date of birth, and address, are accurate, as no modifications will be allowed after submission. 2.       Carefully fill in the details in the online application, verify each particular, and click on the “SUBMIT” button. Pay attention to correct spellings of names, as any later changes may disqualify the candidature. 3.       After submission, a Registration number will be generated. The candidate should make payment through the provided link on the Court’s website. After 24 hours of successful payment, revisit the Court’s website, enter the registration number and date of birth, and upload a scanned passport-size photograph, signature, and declaration to finally submit the application form. 4.      Candidates should print the finally submitted online application form, and keep it along with relevant certificates, as it will be requisitioned from candidates qualifying for the Main (Written) examination. |

Important Instructions:(i)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Direct recruitment from the Bar applies to both permanent and temporary positions in the Bihar Superior Judicial Service. (ii)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Vacancies as of 31.03.2023 will be considered for this recruitment. (iii)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The same application procedure applies to advocates practicing outside Bihar, akin to those within the state. (iv)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The selection process involves a Written and Viva-Voce test. (v)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The High Court will conduct a screening test to shortlist candidates, determining eligibility for the Written Test. The screening test consists of 100 objective questions on Law, English Language, General, and Computer Knowledge. (vi)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Candidates, around ten times the vacancies, will take the written test based on screening test marks. About three times the vacancies will proceed to the Viva-Voce test based on written test marks. (vii) The main (Written) Examination includes various subjects with a ratio of 80% for theory papers and 20% for viva voce. Candidates must secure at least 45% in each theory paper, viva voce, and 50% aggregate in written test and viva voce combined. (viii)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Reserved category candidates receive a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks. EWS category candidates do not receive any relaxation. (ix)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Selected candidates receive pay in the District Judge (Entry Level) time scale with allowances. (x)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Candidates serve a one-year probation period, and confirmation is subject to suitability in all aspects. (xi)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The High Court will determine further steps in the examination and recruitment process. (xii)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Candidates must verify their eligibility before applying. The High Court may scrutinize papers at any stage. (xiii)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Examination fee is Rs. 1500 (Rs. 750 for SC/ST/OH candidates from Bihar). Admit cards must be downloaded from the Court’s website, and no hard copies will be sent. (xiv)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â After one year from the declaration of the final result, examination materials will be weeded out, except for the final result, tabulation chart, and application forms of successful candidates. |
